Kia ora, I’m Helen — photographer, tutor, and lifelong storyteller. I’ve spent more than 40 years behind the camera, beginning in journalism and growing into a deep love for contemporary portraiture, personal branding, and women’s empowerment.

My approach is calm, encouraging, and centered on genuine connection. I work with real people — many of whom don’t think they’re “photogenic” — helping them relax, feel confident, and enjoy the experience of being photographed.

As a photography educator, I’m passionate about sharing practical skills and making learning accessible. My workshops and courses are hands-on, supportive, and designed to help photographers build confidence, creativity, and technical understanding.

At the heart of everything I do is one simple belief:
